Wenzhou International Airport announced on March 28 that the Wenzhou-Milan passenger route has been upgraded, with the number of flights increased from once a week to four times a week, able to accommodate about 120,000 passengers and deliver nearly 10,000 metric tons of cargo per year.
The upgrade reflects Wenzhou's ambition to create a better business environment and strive to become an international transport hub.
The flight, operated by Air China using an Airbus A330, will see outbound flight CA837 depart from Wenzhou at 12:40 Beijing time and arrive in Milan at 19:55 local time, while the inbound flight CA838, will depart from Milan at 21:55 local time and arrive in Wenzhou at 15:35 Beijing time the following day.
Milan is the second-largest city in Italy and a crucial economic center in Europe. It is an important transportation hub connecting the Mediterranean and Central Europe and also home to a large number of Wenzhou natives living overseas.
The passenger route is expected to help Wenzhou link 24 domestic cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, as well as 16 European, American and African cities such as Paris, London, Frankfurt, Barcelona and Cairo.
