Creative videos from Wenzhou shine at national competition

Wenzhou stood out at the recently-concluded 2022 "Tell Chinese Stories” creative video competition with 18 outstanding works, local media outlets reported.

The city once again demonstrated its unique charm by receiving the largest number of awards in the competition.

The competition is a national-level event sponsored by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration under the guidance of the State Council Information Office. The 2022 edition started with nine regional competitions held in Shandong, Wenzhou, Changsha, Chongqing, Jilin, Hainan, Hubei, Guangxi, and Sichuan and received about 132,000 entries.

A total of 98 winning works were selected after careful local evaluation, committee review, online voting, expert scoring, and final assessment. Among them, 18 were from Wenzhou, including three first-place prizes, two second-place prizes, six third-place prizes, and six honorable mentions. The works explored Wenzhou's history, culture, social and economic development, showcasing the diverse and flourishing city to the world.

Wenzhou's strong performance in the competition is a testament to the city's cultural confidence and innovative spirit and demonstrated that the city is ready to continue to tell its stories to the world.
