Around 200 runners participated in a relay race held on April 15 at the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, one of the venues for the Hangzhou Asian Games, local media reported.

The event was part of activities organized by the Zhejiang Marathon Association to "welcome the Asian Games and run in the Asian Games venues".

The relay race was held in six venues for the Hangzhou Asian Games in different cities, with each section being 9.23 kilometers in length, as the Hangzhou Asian Games will be open on Sept 23. A total of 2,022 participants will be involved in the competitions.

With Hangzhou at the center, the six venues are spread throughout the five Asian Games co-host cities of Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing and Jinhua in Zhejiang province. The event aims to enable runners in Zhejiang to be the first to get the chance to appreciate the style of Asian Games venues and warm up for the Asian Games.

An official from the city's sports bureau said that Wenzhou, as a host city of the Hangzhou Asian Games, adheres to the concept of "sports make life better", and strives to improve the ability and services for the preparation of the Asian Games.
