Editor's note: What can a seed be turned into? Will it be sweet rice for dinner, tasty watermelons sold in the heat of the summer, or vegetables for supermarket shelves? Living in the city, we’re no strangers to seeing many types of fruits, but we definitely don't know how they grow from a seed. In this video, we'll follow Yuki Sato as she witnesses the amazing life journey of a seed.

Yuki Sato, a Japanese agronomist, recently visited Wenzhou Seedling Technology Park. Guided by Su Shiwen, an assistant researcher, Sato experienced the selection, cultivation and delivery of tomato seedlings, and even sowed some tomato seeds in the park.

Sato learned that the park has developed core industrial advantages in the seedling selection of many vegetables and grains such as rice, corn, cauliflower, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, and goldenrod.

Researchers also gave full play to their professional expertise and technical advantages to develop the local seed industry, such as helping villagers sharpen their farming techniques and using drones for seeding and irrigation.
