The "Exciting Hangzhou" Dragon Boat Selection Competition for the National Team and Test Race for the Asian Games ended recently at the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province.
Zhejiang's men's team and women's team won second place and first place, respectively, qualifying for the next stage of the scoring race. The Wenzhou University team came fourth in the women's group.
The competition attracted 192 athletes from 12 teams from provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian and Hubei. This was Wenzhou's first test match for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games and a comprehensive test for the Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center.
The Fujian, Zhejiang and Shunde Lecong teams took the top three places in the men's group for the selection and test races. The Fujian team's total score was 57 points; the Zhejiang team's was 45 points, ranking second; and the Shunde Lecong team's was 36 points.
In the women's 1,000m straight-line sprint race, the Zhejiang team ranked first with a total score of 59 points. Zhejiang, Jiujiang Shuangzheng and Yuanhang Jiujiang teams took the top three places in the women's group for the selection and test races.
All six winning teams will compete in three rounds of men's and women's 200m, 500m and 1,000m straight-line sprint races.
