A conference of Wenzhou people living in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area took place in Hong Kong on May 22, bringing together hundreds of attendees from the business community, experts, scholars, and young talent.
Titled "Wenzhou-Hong Kong Collaboration for Common Development," the event aimed to promote the sharing of development opportunities between Wenzhou and various sectors of Hong Kong, as well as to seek cooperation between the two cities.
The goal was to enable Wenzhou to develop by integrating itself into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Liang Zhenying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, pointed out that exploring new models of collaboration and cooperation between Wenzhou and the Greater Bay Area is in line with Hong Kong's need for better integration with the Chinese mainland.
He believes that the Greater Bay Area, like the people of Wenzhou, has a spirit of exploration and progress. He expressed hope that Wenzhou and Hong Kong can continue their efforts to expand into new areas of cooperation, enhance the quality of cooperation, and actively leverage the complementary roles of Hong Kong and Wenzhou businesses.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Wenzhou Cooperation and Development Forum, one of the important events of the conference, was held in the afternoon.
In order to promote industrial cooperation between Wenzhou and the Greater Bay Area, seven major industrial cooperation projects, three headquarters projects, five China-Europe cargo train cooperation projects, six financial cooperation projects, and the Wenzhou Institute of Technology and Innovation at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University were signed during the forum.
In the evening, the inauguration ceremonies of the 19th Council of the Hong Kong Wenzhou Fellow Association and the third Council of the Hong Kong Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce were held.
