The competition is an annual official brand activity that aims to collect and spread positive stories about China and establish a positive international image for the country. It will invite submissions from a wide range of participants, including enterprises, institutions, communication agencies, social organizations, overseas Chinese, and international students.

Du Zhanyuan, director of the Chinese Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, pointed out the need to further upgrade the competition, improve the way China's stories are told, showcase the charm of modern Chinese civilization, and create a new version of the competition with greater influence.
