June 15 marked an important moment for the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games as it marked the start of the 100-day countdown. As one of the co-host cities, Wenzhou has been brimming with enthusiasm in recent days.
An exhibition of excellent overseas children's artworks based on the theme "Welcoming the Asian Games and Painting Dragon Boats" was held in Rui'an, a count-level city. At the Wenzhou Youth Fencing Friendship Tournament held at Wuyue Plaza, 224 "little fencers" from all over the city showcased their skills and style.
Primary and secondary schools across the city conducted morning meetings on "Celebrating the 100-day Countdown to the Asian Games". State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company and the city's postal industry held a mobilization rally. Lucheng district launched the "100-day Countdown to the Asian Games" special volunteer service activity, while a group of fashionable young people made an appearance in the form of a flash mob at the local international airport,
Last night, Wenzhou also held a celebration event called "Sports Night" to mark the 100-day countdown, along with the opening ceremony of the 2023 Wenzhou Cultural Auditorium's "Our Village Olympics", which will run until the opening day of the Asian Games on Sept 23.
The five major events of the village Olympics, including the people's football league, dragon boat parade, people's basketball league, folk chess championship, and farmers' fun sports competition, will fully support the promotion of Wenzhou's image as the "City of Sports and Events."
