The opening ceremony of the "Spring of Sino-French Culture" event, along with the "Gathering - The Pillar of Classicism" art exhibition, took place at the Wenzhou Museum on July 6.

Three original sculptures by famous French sculptor Auguste Rodin made their first appearance in China.

"Spring of Sino-French Culture" is a recurring cultural exchange event between China and France, established in 2006. After years of development, it has become an important platform for cultural exchange between the two countries, the largest overseas cultural festival for France and the largest foreign cultural festival in China.

The 17th edition of the "Spring of Sino-French Culture" event was launched on April 5, with French President Emmanuel Macron attending the opening ceremony in Beijing. Over 65 projects have been launched in more than 20 cities across China, with Wenzhou serving as a host city, showcasing the cooperative achievements between China and France in the fields of fine arts, music, and more.

Entitled "Gathering," the art exhibition displays a total of 38 works, mainly consisting of 19th-century European classical sculptures, paintings, and furniture collected by Wu Jing, a French-Chinese of Wenzhou origin and the curator of Rodin Museum's Chinese branch. Among them are four original sculptures by Rodin, three of which are being exhibited for the first time in China.

The exhibition will run until Sept 6. In addition to the exhibition, there will be subsequent events such as Zhu Yibing's cello concert, allowing audiences to experience the charm of Sino-French cultural and artistic exchange by following the traces left by the sculptor and the interpretations of the musicians.
