A direct flight operated by Loong Air from Wenzhou to Kalibo in the Philippines took off from Wenzhou Longwan International Airport at 1 pm on July 6 and arrived at Kalibo International Airport at 4:55 pm local time.

This is the first international tourist flight opened by Wenzhou since the lifting of COVID-19 travel restrictions this year.

Kalibo is the capital of Aklan Province in the Philippines. With a well-developed coastal shipping industry, it is a major commercial center within the province and an important component of the Philippines' tourism routes.

The opening of the Wenzhou-Kalibo tourism air route will provide a stable, convenient, and efficient air bridge for passengers from Wenzhou and surrounding areas as well as Filipino friends, compatriots, and overseas Chinese.

It will play an important role in promoting the development of tourism in both regions, facilitating people-to-people, trade and cultural exchanges.

The flight will run three times a week, with outbound flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and return flights on the same day.
