The National Frisbee Championship 2023 opened at the Olympic Sports Center in Ouhai district, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province on July 14, local media outlets reported.

A total of 22 teams from across the country competed for the championship over the next three days.

The championship is the first national frisbee event organized by the General Administration of Sport. More than 600 athletes from 22 provinces, autonomous regions and cities participated in the competition. With group matches, elimination rounds, and finals, a total of 66 matches were held, culminating in the crowning of the national champions.

The Xinjiang team traveled the farthest distance to participate in the event and has the highest diversity of ethnicities among participating athletes. A love for frisbee brought athletes from different ethnic backgrounds together. They hoped to learn from players from all over the country while showcasing their multi-ethnic spirit.

As the host city of the inaugural National Frisbee Championship and one of the co-host cities of the Hangzhou Asian Games, Wenzhou will see three venues and an Asian Games sub-village hosting football and dragon boat races.

The competition served as an opportunity to promote the development of the sports industry and sports undertakings while inspiring more people to visit Wenzhou, allowing them to experience the city's sports fervor.
