Wenzhou, a city in East China's Zhejiang province, has been focusing on the innovation and improvement of the digital economy, with the aim of transforming industrial data into commercial value, local media reported.
By the end of June, 23 manufacturing companies and 20 big data application demonstration companies in Wenzhou had been selected as "cloud enterprises" by the provincial government.
One examplethat has successful transformed is Zhejiang Dongjing Technology Co, a paper packaging company founded in 1994. In recent years, the company has developed an "industrial Internet + cloud factory" model, creating a digital platform that coordinates the entire production process, from sales and procurement to production and logistics.
This has not only made Dongjing a leading company in the paper packaging industry, but also improved efficiency throughout the entire supply chain. Currently, its digital platform serves nearly 40,000 companies in 299 cities across China, with an annual sales revenue of 3.5 billion yuan ($488 million).
Wenzhou is actively exploring new paths toward the commercialization of industrial data. With the establishment of the China (Wenzhou) Data Harbor as a carrier, the city has attracted a total of 68 top companies and innovative enterprises in the data industry.
Wenzhou's efforts to commercialize industrial data have provided a solid foundation for the development of local industries. The city aims to enhance its core competitiveness in data management, product standardization, cloud computing, marketing and data security in order to drive the growth of the industrial cluster.
