Wenzhou's first-ever urban nightlife festival kicked off on the evening of Aug 10 in Lucheng district, aiming to invigorate the city's nightlife and contribute to its status as a regional consumption hub.

One of the key features of the event was the distribution of various types of consumer vouchers through platforms like Wenzhou Daily and Alipay. The first batch of online vouchers, released at 8 pm, was snapped up within a mere 58 seconds. The vouchers are valid for three days and any that go unused will be reclaimed for the next round of distribution. Additionally, a portion of the vouchers has been reserved for offline distribution, allowing residents to inquire at physical stores and scan QR codes on-site to claim them.

Another facet of the event was the creation of a food festival on online platforms like Wenzhou Daily and Eleme. A total of 12 million yuan ($1.63 million) in subsidies and red envelopes were distributed in two phases between Aug 10 and 18.

The "Wenzhou Night" fashion market was set up in the city's Oujiang Road Light and Shadow Terminal and surrounding areas the same time. The businesses engaged in interactive activities with the online event, allowing consumers to use their claimed vouchers or scan QR codes on-site for further discounts.

During the opening ceremony, Lucheng introduced booths representing various streets and towns within the district, showcasing their landmarks and unique characteristics. They also unveiled a nightlife map highlighting local cuisines, culture, tourism, and shopping, providing navigation through a mini-program.
