Recently, the term "Zhejiang company develops 'non-stick' yogurt lid" trended on social media.

It was reported that a food packaging company in Yueqing, Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has invented a "non-stick" yogurt lid, whose surface undergoes a treatment with micro-nano structures, making it hydrophobic and food-safe, just like a lotus leaf that repels water, ensuring that it remains yogurt-free. The product has obtained a national patent.

In fact, the idea of developing a "non-stick" yogurt lid came about quite casually.

"During a gathering with friends, one of them tore open a yogurt lid, causing the yogurt to splatter onto the lid. He jokingly asked if it was possible to invent a lid that doesn't stick to yogurt. His offhand comment inspired us to research the lid," explained the head of the company.

The company continuously adjusted and improved the structure of high polymer materials to make the lid hydrophobic and achieve the "non-stick" effect.

The "non-stick" yogurt lid was developed by a Chinese company for the first time. Despite being priced at double the cost of regular yogurt lids, it has been highly popular in the market, selling approximately 100 million pieces annually.

The production has sparked discussions among netizens.

Some users expressed, "The technology should exist, and it's worth encouraging. Those who like licking the lid can buy lids made of other materials, while those who don't can opt for these." On the contrary, some users sighed, saying, "Is yogurt still yogurt without licking the lid?" "Licking the lid is an essential part of drinking yogurt."
