As the Asian Games countdown enters its final 30 days, a dedicated meeting was held in Wenzhou on Aug 17 to scrutinize critical milestones, including the torch relay and the commencement of official competitions.
The objective is clear: to welcome the grand sporting spectacle in the best possible state, with the most conducive atmosphere, and amid a picturesque environment.
During the meeting, the Wenzhou Municipal Asian Games Office presented an overview of the preparations, outlined existing challenges, and offered recommendations for the next steps. Representatives from various counties and districts also presented updates on the torch relay, urban security measures, venue operations, and atmosphere creation.
The meeting underscored the significance of hosting the Games, not only as a national event but also as a pivotal responsibility for Wenzhou, the co-host city. At this critical juncture, with the Games inching closer, every detail needs meticulous attention. A collective effort across society is essential to ensure that the Games' achievements benefit the broader population.
Throughout the city, approximately 500 Asian Games volunteer stations have been established. The stations will provide a wide array of services, including information about the Games, international language support, road direction, essential supplies, and comfortable rest areas.
The meeting emphasized that competition organization must adhere to high standards, efficiency, precision, professionalism, and compliance with regulations. Ongoing maintenance of Asian Games venues is a priority, and comprehensive tests and rehearsals are being carried out across all facets of event management. Rigorous preparations are also underway for the torch relay, with a focus on ensuring a smooth, orderly, and spectacular spectacle.
Comprehensive event support services are being meticulously planned, covering all aspects such as arrivals and departures, transportation, accommodation, medical services, volunteer support, and urban operations.
