The 2023 "Bank of Ningbo Cup" ITF World Tennis Masters Tour MT400 Wenzhou Station kicked off at the Wenzhou International Tennis Center on Aug 22.
Over 270 tennis enthusiasts from countries and regions such as China, the United States, Singapore, and Colombia gathered in the eastern Chinese coastal city for the sporting event.
This marks the first time that the international tennis tournament has come to the city, offering a total prize money of 349,800 yuan ($47,964).
The ITF World Tennis Masters Tour is an international tennis event organized by the International Tennis Federation for tennis fans aged 30 and above. It aims to attract both elite competitive players and recreational players and encourages players to break down age barriers.
The Wenzhou tournament will take place from Aug 22 to 26. It features five categories - men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The mixed doubles category boasts couples taking to the court.
The event is a heavyweight addition to Longwan's tennis landscape, following the inaugural China Public Tennis League Finals held in April this year.
