The dragon boat event of the 19th Asian Games is set to take place in Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province from Oct 4 to 6.
Athletes from all over Asia, including three from Wenzhou, will vie for six gold medals during the event. Each team will be made up of 12 athletes, comprising one drummer, one steerer and 10 paddlers.
With its renowned dragon boat culture, Wenzhou has a large community of dragon boat enthusiasts.
The Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center, which was built in 2021 in the city's Ouhai district, will serve as the venue for the Games' dragon boat races. This state-of-the-art center features six racecourses measuring 1,200 meters in length, making it the highest-standard competition venue not only in China but all of Asia.
The competition schedule is subject to change in accordance with the number of athletes and broadcasting needs.
