The Longwan section of Huanshan North Road in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province recently opened to traffic, according to local transportation authorities.
Huanshan North Road is a major east-west thoroughfare that spans a total length of 8.34 kilometers. It features a two-way, six-lane traffic system that is in line with the city's main road standards. The road is divided into two sections - Longwan and Ecological Garden - and has been designed to accommodate a speed limit of 60 km per hour.
The opening of the 7.2-km Longwan section is expected to significantly ease travel congestion in Wenzhou and greatly improve access to important venues, such as the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center, one of the city's three main sporting facilities for the Asian Games.
