China won the first gold esports medal in Asian Games history by beating Malaysia in the smartphone multiplayer battle game "Arena of Valor" on Sept 26.

Lin Heng, a 21-year-old gamer from Wenzhou, made proactive and speedy offensive during the game as the jungler, supporting the team grab the first win.

Nicknamed "Warming Sun" in the game system, he made his debut in the professional league in 2018, displaying his unique and bold strategy and topping the scoreboard as the first to register 100 kills in the season. Lin participated in the Asian Games for the first time in 2023.

Lin's perseverance helped him conquer the challenges and low ebbs during the rise, and he is publicly known as a sweet-tempered team leader.

"I think I need to take care of everyone in the team. And I should stay rational no matter what. From the bottom of my heart, I feel I can be more helpful and gain the trust from my team. I treasure this team and the status quo," Liu expressed during an interview.

Esports was listed as a demonstration sport at the Jakarta Asian Games in 2018 and became an official sport at the Hangzhou Asian Games, featuring popular games such as League of Legends, Arena of Valor and Hearthstone.
