Wenzhou companies score $88 million in intended deals at Canton Fair

Phase one of the 134th China Import and Export Fair recently concluded, yielding substantial success for Wenzhou enterprises as they hosted 1,366 buyers and 3,266 potential buyers, amassing over $88.26 million (645,04 million yuan) in intended transactions.

With a historic high of 1,567 booths, 750 Wenzhou businesses participated in the fair, predominantly in sectors like shoes, electronics, bags, stationery, and auto parts. The top regions for intended transactions included ASEAN countries, Europe, and the Middle East, with Canada, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Brunei among the top countries. Auto parts, electronics, hardware, household appliances, and bicycles emerged as the leading sectors for intended transactions.

The 134th Canton Fair expanded to include industrial automation, new energy vehicles, and smart travel. Notably, 16 Wenzhou companies secured 22 booths in these domains.

Yueqing's foreign trade transformation base for low-voltage electrical appliances debuted at the fair, featuring products from 18 representative firms.

The second phase of the 134th Canton Fair will continue until Oct 27, encompassing daily consumer goods, toys, festivals, gifts, furniture, home decor, tableware, ceramics, and gardening items. The third phase, from Nov 1 to 5, will focus on textiles, clothing, shoes, office bags, leisure products, medicine, healthcare, and food.
