Ruian in East China's Zhejiang province is turbocharging its journey to modernize farming and rural life, local media reported on Dec 15.

In recent years, Ruian has spearheaded digital initiatives through the creation of a smart rural platform, promoting the online management of production, networked distribution and marketing, and digitized credit services.

This platform establishes a comprehensive and closed-loop precise service system that spans production, supply and marketing, and credit. Farmers can conveniently and cost-effectively order fertilizers through this platform.

Moreover, the platform utilizes information such as land ownership types, cultivated crops, planting areas, agricultural operations, and supply, credit data, among others, to tailor its services to the specific needs of individual farmers.

These reforms have not only optimized existing agricultural processes but have also paved the way for Ruian to continuously explore new functionalities in the agricultural industry.

Zhu Zaijie, an operator at Ruian Tourism Investment Company, highlighted that on weekends, the scenic wooden walkways and sail-shaped observation decks in the countryside attract a multitude of visitors. "During peak times, we average more than 10,000 visitors daily, with an annual reception of over a million tourists."
