As the 14th China (Hefei) International Garden Expo concluded on Dec 26, Wenzhou is set to host the 15th expo in 2024.
Renowned as China's premier landscape and greening exhibition, the Garden Expo is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the provincial government of the host city.
Wenzhou, a city with thousands of years of history and picturesque landscapes, secured the bid for the 15th edition of the expo after participating in and winning accolades at three prior expos.
Yang Baojun, the Chief Economist of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, stressed the expo's role in promoting ecological civilization and cultural exchange, urging Wenzhou to make the 15th expo an example of international allure and cultural dissemination.
Zhang Wenjie, the acting mayor of Wenzhou, accepted the symbolic relay baton in the closing ceremony, outlined the city's commitment to delivering an expo showcasing global elegance and unique qualities of the city.
The event aims to be a mix of world charm, Chinese elegance, and Wenzhou characteristics, inviting guests to witness the intersection of traditional and modernized beauty.
