Dongyun Canal Park in Yueqing, a county-level city of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province was a festive scene on the first day of 2024, adorned with thousands of New Year lanterns shimmering in the night.
The lanterns beautifully showcased local features such as Yandang Mountain, diverse cuisine, dendrobium flowers, and the electric industry.
The lantern show, which was free and open to the public, consisted of 54 land lanterns and 4 water lanterns. It will last until Feb 25. Throughout this period, attendees can enjoy over 60 cultural performances and activities, including music, lantern making, food tasting, and riddle guessing.
Visitors expressed their admiration for the lantern show and the overall festive atmosphere. Yang Xia, a local resident, shared her sense of pride and happiness witnessing the changes in Yueqing showcased through the lantern show. Alinda, a Turkish visitor, said that she felt the New Year's spirit and is looking forward to the Chinese Spring Festival.
