The grape theme park in Xiaoqiu village in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province became the stage for a nationally-recognized intangible cultural heritage performance known as datiehua, or "strike iron flower".
The performance drew thousands of spectators, not only from among the local residents of Leqing but also from various parts of Wenzhou and Taizhou, both cities in Zhejiang.
With origins dating back to the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), datiehua is a traditional folk firework display. The technique was discovered by ancient Chinese craftsmen during the process of casting utensils.
