More than 250 representatives from 125 eyewear enterprises in Ouhai district, Wenzhou, flew to Milan, Italy, on Jan 30, to participate in the upcoming 2024 MIDO Eyewear Show.
MIDO, the world's largest professional eyewear exhibition, will be held from Feb 3 to 5, with more than 25,000 square meters of exhibition area and about 1,305 exhibitors and brands. Ouhai exhibitors occupy about 3,000 sq m of the exhibition space, showcasing their eyewear products to the world.
"Our company has participated in the MIDO for more than 20 years. There are many business opportunities at the exhibition, and we believe that we can get more orders," stated the person in charge of Zhejiang Tongda Optical Co Ltd. He added that the company will also participate in the Hong Kong Eyewear Exhibition, Japan Tokyo Optical Eyewear Exhibition, and other international professional eyewear exhibitions, striving to secure more orders.
Wenzhou Dongtian Trading Co Ltd brought a number of new products to the exhibition, including a titanium alloy series, handmade plate glasses, metal glasses, children's glasses, sunglasses and optical glasses.
Ouhai is one of the five major eyewear production bases in China. The district's regional brand of "Ouhai Eyewear" has been approved as a national geographical indication trademark. In 2023, the output value and export of eyewear in Ouhai reached 5.07 billion yuan ($708.55 million) and 5.2 billion yuan, respectively.
