Wenzhou Port Group Co Ltd reported that it handled 1,008 TEUs of containers via sea-river intermodal transport in January, a whopping 453.8 percent increase from last year. This is the first time that the group's monthly sea-rail intermodal transport volume surpassed 1,000 TEUs.

The group has been expanding its sea-rail transport network, introducing additional routes beyond the initial Yongkang-Wenzhou line to destinations like Nanchang, Shangrao, Lishui, and Jinyun. This strategic expansion has transformed their service from a single line to a comprehensive network, facilitating the convergence of inland export goods to Wenzhou Port's coverage area along near-sea shipping routes.

Furthermore, by integrating port, shipping, and railway operations, the group enhances communication and coordination among land-based operations, port facilities, and businesses. Their proactive approach to container loading for sea-rail transport and streamlined train dispatching enables seamless loading and shipping upon arrival. This ensures the efficiency of sea-rail intermodal transport and builds trust with customers.

In the future, Wenzhou Port Group remains committed to optimizing and expanding its sea-rail intermodal transport business. Its goal is to strengthen the logistics radiation capacity of sea-rail intermodal transport and establish Wenzhou's sea-rail intermodal transport as a key transportation artery serving the southern and western regions, including Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi provinces.
