Pay Lam Khup, a student from Myanmar studying at Wenzhou Medical University, and a group of nine fellow international students visited the temple fair on the first day of the second lunar month in Quxi sub-district, Ouhai district, Wenzhou, immersing themselves in the place's rich cultural heritage.
The temple fair, held on the first day of the second lunar month in Quxi, boasts a history of over 200 years and offered the students a glimpse into traditional Chinese customs and festivities. From the bustling car market to the vibrant market fair, they savored every moment of their journey.
Lydia Ojwang from Kenya guided the students through the experience, with single ticket providing access to all the games and souvenirs available. Among the traditional activities, games like chuiwan (ball-hitting) and touhu, also known as pitch-pot, proved popular, with the students cheering and celebrating in excitement.
Hera Soha from Pakistan expressed delight at the novelty of experiencing activities not commonly found in their home countries.
