On the evening of March 17, the highly anticipated All England Open Badminton Championships, a crucial badminton event ahead of the Paris Olympics, concluded. Zheng Siwei, reigning world champion hailing from Wenzhou, along with his partner Huang Yaqiong, clinched the championship for the third time, marking a significant achievement in their careers.

Currently ranked as the world's number-one pair, Zheng and Huang faced tough opponents in Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino, who ranked third globally. Both pairs had impressive records in the All England Open, with each winning the mixed doubles title twice.

As defending champions, Zheng and Huang were determined to retain their title. In an intense final match, they displayed remarkable skill and determination, eventually securing victory in straight sets with scores of 21-15 and 21-11, respectively, in a match lasting just 37 minutes. This was the only triumph for the Chinese badminton team in this year's All England Open.

Looking ahead, they will focus on preparing for the Paris Olympics, which are set to commence in July.

Reflecting on their success, Zheng expressed gratitude for the audience's support and emphasized the significance of winning the All England Open in an Olympic year. He credited the audience for creating a comfortable atmosphere and acknowledged their role in his and his partner's victory.
