The Qixi Climbing Team from Wenzhou shined at the National Youth Climbing Open in Jiangshan, Zhejiang province, from April 12 to 14. They clinched one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, with four athletes securing spots in the Asian Youth Climbing Championships.

During the three-day competition, Wenzhou's young climbers excelled, with Lin Yuhuan winning the U11 girls' speed event, Geng Xiao taking second in the U8 boys', Ge Youchang third in the U13 girls', and Gao Yiren third in the U11 boys'. The top 10 athletes from the combined difficulty and speed events qualified for the Asian championships.

Post-competition, 40 climbers joined the national youth training team, including four from Wenzhou's Qixi Team, who will compete in Asia.

Climbing, as an emerging sport, has been made an official event in the Olympics, Asian Games, and National Games. As a result, Wenzhou has experienced a surge in enthusiasm for the sport.

The Wenzhou Qixi Climbing Team, part of the Qixi Sports and Culture Development Co Ltd, focuses on youth climbing training and talent development. In recent years, Qixi Sports has nurtured a number of outstanding young athletes, achieving impressive results in national youth climbing competitions and championships and becoming a prime example of Wenzhou's community-driven sports initiatives.
