Goldwind Sci & Tech Co Ltd's Wenzhou base dispatched its first export order of GW155-4.5MW wind turbines to Pakistan on April 17, marking a significant milestone for Wenzhou's wind power industry.

The shipment marked the first export order for the factory and the inaugural export of a complete wind turbine from Wenzhou. The shipment is also set to enhance the local grids in Pakistan with over 20 million kilowatt-hours of annual power generation.

The two massive turbines, each weighing 43 metric tons and measuring over 10 meters in length, were customized for the challenging local conditions, including high temperatures and sandstorms. They will power a textile enterprise in Thatta County, reflecting Goldwind's commitment to providing tailored clean energy solutions and operational support.

As the new energy industry continues to attract investment, Goldwind's Wenzhou base is poised to contribute significantly to the marine economy of Wenzhou and Zhejiang, with plans to secure more international orders and drive the export of major equipment. This landmark export not only signifies Wenzhou's manufacturing prowess but also its strategic pivot towards sustainable energy solutions on a global scale.

This export is also a testament to Wenzhou's growing influence in the new energy sector, with the city securing over 200 billion yuan ($27.62 billion) in investments for new energy projects since 2023.
