Wenzhou's cultural tourism booms during May Day holiday

During the May Day holiday, Wenzhou's cultural tourism saw a major boom. The city's 77 A-level attractions received 4.13 million visitors, a 17.65-percent increase year-on-year.

Yandang Mountain was a spectacle of tradition, with hanfu-clad tourists and packed hanfu shops. Its Lingfeng Scenic Area's opera flash mobs and performances added to the festive atmosphere. According to statistics, from May 1 to 5, Yandang Mountain received a total of 638,900 tourists, an increase of 22.28 percent.

Wencheng's Baizhangji Scenic Area hosted the Martial Arts Convention, drawing an impressive 199,100 visitors during the five-day holiday, doubling the previous year's count, while Cangnan's Yucang Mountain Scenic Area welcomed 52,400 visitors with its new free admission policy.

City-wide, nearly 800 cultural and tourism events were held.

Yueqing hosted 23 performances featuring folk customs and intangible cultural heritages, while Taishun county offered a deep dive into the unique She culture, receiving a 12.61-percent increase in visitors to the Zhuli Scenic Area.
