The 2024 National International Wrestling Championships wrapped up in Wenzhou on May 12. Zhejiang wrestlers made a strong showing, securing a total of one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.
The event saw over 1,600 athletes competing for 30 gold medals across various categories.
The final day was marked by the Greco-Roman finals in the 77kg, 97kg, and 130kg weight classes, with the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Jiangsu, and Henan teams each winning gold.
Zhejiang's Tan Jian earned a silver in the 77kg category, while Jiangsu and Henan took home silvers in the 97kg and 130kg finals, respectively.
In the women's freestyle category, Jiangsu led with three golds. In men's freestyle, Guangxi secured three golds. Zhejiang's Wang Siming earned a bronze in the 65kg category, marking the team's first medal of the tournament.
The Greco-Roman category was evenly contested, with Zhejiang's Bei Jiahui winning the 67kg class, the only gold for the host province. Additionally, Zhejiang's Hu Di took silver in the 63kg, Tan Jian took silver in the 77kg, and both Ren Heng and Chen Yifan secured bronzes in the 72kg and 82kg categories, respectively.
