The Zhejiang government showcased Wenzhou's intangible cultural heritage from May 13 to 15 in France and Hungary, featuring colorful stone inlay, Pingyang lacquerware, and fine-line paper carving.
On May 13, the exhibition featuring Song Dynasty (960-1279) paintings opened at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris. On May 15, the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Zhejiang-Baranya County friendship and the Encountering Poetic Zhejiang in the 24 Solar Terms exhibition was held in Hungary. These events were co-hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and organized by the Zhejiang Cultural Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau.
Li Wei, an inheritor of Pingyang lacquerware, provided a hands-on experience with lacquer fans and bookmarks, sharing the historical essence of China's intangible heritage with foreigners.
Wenzhou lacquerware, renowned since the Song Dynasty for its exquisite craftsmanship, represents a significant chapter in China's lacquer art history. It's celebrated as "the best lacquerware in the world".
