This center will serve as the primary platform for Wenzhou's external communications, helping the world better understand the city by leveraging various media and expanding its outreach channels.

Wenzhou is notable as the hometown of many overseas Chinese, with 700,000 overseas Chinese in nearly 200 countries and regions, providing a unique advantage in international communication. This has made it a crucial link between China and the outside world.

In recent years, Wenzhou has built partnerships with 147 overseas Chinese media outlets, many Chinese schools abroad, and over 100 well-known foreign media organizations. This effort has transformed its overseas communication, allowing precise and multi-dimensional cultural dissemination.

The unveiling ceremony featured congratulatory messages from notable figures, including Shi Zhongjun, secretary-general of the China-ASEAN Center, and Claudio Schermi, president of the International Dragon Boat Federation.

Tang Yun, or Bonino Gabriella, an Italian working in Wenzhou, shared her experiences in the city in her Italian book Discovering Wenzhou, which introduces Italians to the Chinese city.

The event also announced the formation of the Wenzhou International Communication Alliance, bringing together 12 county-level media centers and nine international communication bases to promote Wenzhou's global communication efforts.
