The award ceremony for the 2023 "Tell China's Stories" International Creative Communication Contest took place in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on June 29.

Two videos produced by students from Wenzhou University of Technology in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, won the contest's special prize and first prize in the university student category, respectively.

The work titled Shengming Jiafa was one of just three works to win the special prize. It tells the story of a girl named Bao Zhenni, who suffers from a rare disease, and her father's difficult journey to seek medical treatment. It showcases Bao's transformation on the path to a new life, calling for more attention to rare disease groups.

The documentary Qiannian Sheyun, which clinched first prize, spotlights the culture and customs of the She ethnic group. It presents the historical legacy, folk customs, and seamless blend of tradition and modernity within the She community.

The work also explores the marriage rituals and blessing ceremonies of the She ethnic group, showcasing their deep-rooted respect for and preservation of their cultural heritage.

During the ceremony, Wang Dingfu, deputy Party secretary of Wenzhou University of Technology, shared insights on how to effectively tell China's stories. He emphasized the importance of telling important stories through everyday characters and events.
