Wenzhou University recently hosted the Youth Yangtze River Tour (Wenzhou Station) for young representatives from Russia's Volga Federal District, with nine young representatives from several Russian universities participating.
The event celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia and aimed to enhance cultural exchange and educational cooperation between the two nations.
On the first day, the Russian delegation arrived in Wenzhou and received a warm welcome from the university. They toured the university's history museum and the unique embroidery art museum, gaining a basic understanding of Wenzhou University's rich heritage.
The second day featured an opening ceremony in which vice-president Wang Shun highlighted the university's achievements and expressed hopes for deepening Sino-Russian youth friendship. The participants also engaged in Chinese language and tea culture classes and explored Wenzhou's historical sites.
Throughout the week, the Russian youth experienced traditional Chinese crafts, such as Ou kiln pottery and local cuisine, and participated in a dragon boat race, fostering a sense of teamwork and cultural appreciation. They also visited scenic spots like Yandang Mountain and took a high-speed train to Hangzhou, where they explored the Grand Canal and West Lake.
The closing ceremony included cultural performances and the awarding of "Sino-Russian Cultural Exchange Ambassadors" certificates to the Russian participants. The event underscored the strong ties and mutual understanding between Chinese and Russian youth, promoting ongoing cultural and educational collaboration.
