The Wenzhou survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics reported that the per capita disposable income of Wenzhou residents reached 37,293 yuan ($3,778.66) in the first half of 2024, a growth of 4.2 percent after adjusting for price factors.
In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 42,902 yuan, a nominal increase of 4.2 percent, while that of rural residents was 23,759 yuan, a nominal increase of 5.6 percent.
The income gap between urban and rural residents narrowed, with the ratio decreasing from 1.83 to 1.81 compared to the same period last year.
Wage income remained the primary source of income, with the per capita wage income for all residents at 19,940 yuan, up 4.7 percent year-on-year and accounting for 53.5 percent of total per capita disposable income.
Wenzhou has also implemented comprehensive support reform for low-income families, benefiting 87,300 households and 141,500 individuals. The city has established 1,224 common prosperity workshops, creating 36,000 targeted jobs. These initiatives have accelerated the flow of funds to rural residents.
In terms of net operating income, net property income, and net transfer income, rural residents' income growth outpaced that of urban residents. The per capita net operating income for all residents was 7,281 yuan, up 4.5 percent year-on-year, while the per capita net property income was 5,188 yuan, up 4.5 percent. The per capita net transfer income was 4,884 yuan, up 5 percent year-on-year.
