Chinese products from Wenzhou's private enterprises are gaining international attention thanks to foreign anchors.
Ghanaian anchor Micheal praised Chint Group's products in a three-minute video, which received numerous likes and shares.
"Foreign anchors are sharing their personal experiences with Wenzhou's technological innovation, social responsibility, and cultural charm, making these videos a new effective tool in Wenzhou's economic diplomacy playbook," said Lou Liaofan, deputy director of the Wenzhou Foreign Affairs Office.
Italian anchor Martino showcased advanced products from Penta Laser (Zhejiang) Co Ltd, while Iranian anchor Mahtab and Indonesian anchor Felicia promoted Wenzhou's high-end intelligent shoe manufacturing industry. Ukrainian engineer Iurii demonstrated new products developed by Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group.
Wenzhou, a historical center of China's private economy, is attracting more foreigners through international short videos. From Jan 1 to Aug 15, Wenzhou airport saw over 230,000 inbound and outbound passengers, a 209-percent surge year-on-year. Among them, more than 11,000 were foreign nationals, a 192-percent increase.
Over 800 foreigners with valid work permits currently reside in Wenzhou, mainly from the United States, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan, working in various industries.
