Lin Shuangbao, a native of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, secured a silver medal for the Chinese sports delegation in para badminton - women's singles SH6 at the Paris Paralympic Games.
The victory marks the second medal for a Wenzhou athlete at this year's Paralympics.
Hailing from Huaixi township, Pingyang county, Wenzhou, Lin previously clinched two golds, one silver and one bronze at the 2023 BWF Thailand and Bahrain Para-Badminton Championships. She also claimed gold in women's doubles SH6 and silver in mixed doubles SH6 at the 2023 Asian Para Games.
Her brother Lin Naili secured the gold medal in the para-badminton mixed doubles SH6 category at this year's Paris Paralympic Games.
Badminton has been gaining in popularity among disabled individuals, boasting a wide reach and enthusiastic participation. In 2021, badminton made its debut as a sport at the Paralympic Games.
This remarkable achievement by the two athletes not only showcases their exceptional talent and dedication but also highlights the growing success of Wenzhou athletes on the international stage.
