As of March 20, Wenzhou is home to over 30,000 registered import-export enterprises, marking a milestone in the city's push for high-quality foreign trade development, according to Wenzhou Customs.
In the first two months of 2025 alone, 525 new import-export companies were registered, up 7.8 percent year-on-year. This growth reflects the effectiveness of streamlined registration services – all of which are now handled online – allowing businesses to complete filings without visiting offices.
Wenzhou Customs has rolled out multiple digital services, such as the Single Window for International Trade, enabling companies to apply for multiple qualifications with a single submission.
To further boost trade, Wenzhou Customs is promoting customs facilitation measures, including Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification. Local AEO-certified enterprises – such as CHINT – enjoy faster clearance, fewer inspections, and international recognition. In the first two months of 2025, Wenzhou's AEO enterprises exported goods worth 2.17 billion yuan ($296 million), up 17.2 percent.
Other reforms include streamlined customs inspection processes, smart logistics scheduling, and the launch of arrival declaration systems to simplify clearance. Customs is also actively promoting policies such as RCEP tariff reductions and tax incentives to maximize business benefits.
Looking ahead, Wenzhou Customs will enhance AEO certification support, facilitate the export of secondhand vehicles, electronics, and local specialties, and deepen enterprise engagement through its coordinator system—helping local businesses thrive in the global market.
