This September, Wenzhou Zoo — located in Wenzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province — is celebrating both National Science Popularization Month and the 100th day since giant panda twins Baodi and Baomei arrived in the city.

A series of programs — including interactive tours, school lectures and a 100-day review — are linking the public with the nation's treasured animals.

To mark the milestone, the zoo has introduced guides in the panda pavilion, sharing stories of the pandas' daily lives, their biological traits and behind-the-scenes details such as preparing for their birthdays.

For school and community groups, special study sheets encourage children to act as observers, recording panda behavior and testing their knowledge through interactive quizzes.

Zoo staff have been attentive to the twins' needs, celebrating key moments like their first month and birthdays. Recently, Baomei entered a pseudo-pregnancy — a common hormonal response in female pandas — but has since returned to her playful self under careful monitoring.

According to the zoo, the panda pavilion has become not only a home for the twins, but also a warm space for human–nature connection.
