Tourists to the Shengsi Islands in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, can now quickly visit multiple islands thanks to an island-hopping tour recently launched by local tourism authorities. 

Shengsi is made up of more than 400 separate islands, but the inconvenient traffic and large amount of time required to see them has long been an obstacle to tourists.

"Island-hopping is a win-win for both Shengsi and tourists; it enriches the experience for tourists by enabling them to visit multiple islands quickly and easily, and it boosts local tourism revenue for Shengsi," said a local tourism official.

"The tour will also help relieve traffic congestion and overstuffed accommodations on some islands by spreading visitors out across multiple islands," the official added. 

Around 120 tourists, online bloggers and media workers participated in the tour on its launch day.
