An investment promotion meeting was held by Putuo district, Zhoushan, in Shanghai on July 12 in order to promote the district's integration into the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.

Representatives from the district signed 13 projects with enterprises in the YRD, covering education, medical care, sci-tech and other fields.

Putuo district, Zhoushan is located in the southeastern part of the Zhoushan archipelago in Zhejiang province. It is named after Mount Putuo, a renowned Chinese Buddhist site in Zhoushan.

The district has been committed to comprehensive cooperation with Shanghai, regarding it as a crucial step in integrating into the YRD region.

The district signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Putuo district, Shanghai, on July 12, a few hours before the investment promotion meeting, in order to strengthen their cooperation in education, health care, public transport and other areas that are related to people's well-being.

The cooperation between the two districts will drive the integration of the YRD, officials said.
