A Maritime Silk Road themed museum recently opened in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, the first of its kind in the city.

The museum will launch a number of cultural and creative products and develop new tourist routes exploring the Maritime Silk Road in order to drive the development of tourism in Zhoushan, said Yin Yuqin, a spokesman of the museum.

The museum, open from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, has already attracted many visitors, including tourists and local residents, added Yin.

Zhoushan lies at the junction of the Maritime Silk Road connecting China, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Arabian Peninsula, Somalia, Egypt, and Europe.
