Daishan sees stable growth in foreign trade in H1

Foreign trade in Daishan county, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, saw steady growth in the first half of the year, according to statistics from local authorities.

The county's foreign trade during the first six months totaled 4.32 billion yuan ($615.84 million), a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent. Exports were valued at 3.31 billion yuan, while imports reached 1.01 billion yuan, up 7.7 percent and 5.94 percent, respectively. 

The ship industry took up the largest share in the county's foreign trade, with the total value of its imports and exports hitting 3.7 billion yuan, up 5.95 percent over the previous year. Eleven ships were exported to overseas countries during the period. 

Major shipbuilding companies saw continuous increases in their output. The county's ship industry generated an output of 3.61 billion yuan in the first half of the year. 

Notably, the auto parts industry saw rapid growth in its foreign trade, growing 36.7 percent to reach 400 million yuan.

The local toy industry also saw stable export growth, with the value rising 4.55 percent to 10.11 million yuan.
