Luxury cruise ship Liu Heng 8 arrived at Liuheng Island in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province. The new ship will be put into operation before Chinese National Day on Oct 1.

Liu Heng 8 is the third passenger ship built by Hunan Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry Co.

The 49-meter-long ship has three floors and hundreds of comfortable seats, and is both fast and wind resistant.

It is equipped with a ship-wide wireless network as well as advanced navigational technology and communication equipment to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers.

According to local authorities, the transportation company in Liuheng has placed a 61.88-million-yuan ($8.67 million) order to the Hunan-based shipbuilding company for two high-speed passenger ships with 199 seats and one standard passenger ship with 380 seats.

The delivery of the luxury cruise ship marks the completion of the largest order of the transportation company in the past 10 years. The ship will bring significant benefit to the island, said officials.
