Thirty-six projects with a total investment of 12.21 billion yuan ($1.71 billion) were introduced in Zhoushan at an investment promotion conference for the city's rural revitalization on Sept 5.

The conference invited over 180 guests from more than 130 enterprises and launched 66 major projects related to agriculture, fisheries and homestays, among other areas, said local authorities.

Officials said that Zhoushan has been dedicated to building demonstration villages and has so far built 285 of them.

The per capita disposable income of the city's rural residents has been among the top three in Zhejiang province for a number of years.

Zhang Zhixiong, CEO from Chia Tai Group, said that the company has been cooperating with the Daishan county government on an ecological agriculture project.
