The 2019 Donghai Music Festival was held with great fanfare on Sept 7 at Zhujiajian Island in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

Many leading bands came to the island to strut their stuff at the festival. Organizers said they put on great shows and spent a passionate night with their fans from all over the country.

This year's festival consisted of stage performances, as well as markets themed on musical art and provided camping areas and other features.

The festival was originally scheduled to be held on Sept 6, but was postponed a day because of Typhoon Lingling and the organizers set up a new stage named after the typhoon, officials said.

According to local authorities, since its beginning in 2011, the festival has gradually become a well-known musical and cultural extravaganza in the Yangtze River Delta region and attracts top professional brands for the outdoor shows.

The festival enables local residents to let their hair down take in an audio-visual feast on their doorsteps and attracts more and more people from the city, said Zheng Yun, a founder of the festival.
