A special performance tour – involving folk songs and dances among other things – was held in Putuo district in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 8.
According to local authorities, actors from the Han ethnic group and ethnic minorities – including the Kirgiz, Uygur and Qiang peoples – participated in the performance and 18 programs were staged in total.
Zhoushan has offered partner assistance to five twinning cities and counties (districts) in four provinces: Xinjiang, Tibet, Sichuan and Jilin. Most of the actors are from these areas.
The city has contributed 150 million yuan ($21.09 million) in assistance funding to its twinning partners, helping them carry out over 40 construction projects.
