Luxury cruise ship SuperStar Gemini will arrive in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Nov 28. The ship will complete its journey on Dec 10, according to a press conference on Sept 6.

The city is one of the four stops on the ship's route, the others being Xiamen in China, Okinawa and Miyako in Japan.

This is the first time that the ship has arrived in Zhoushan. It is expected to receive about 10,000 passengers over the course of its thirteen-day journey.

The ship, with its plentiful recreational facilities and dining options, allows passengers to enjoy Chinese cuisine as well as international specialties and outdoor barbecues.

The cruise offers two four-day itineraries, namely the Zhoushan-Okinawa-Zhoushan itinerary and the Zhoushan-Miyako-Xiamen itinerary.

Xiamen, a city in Fujian province, is famous for Gulangyu island. Okinawa and Miyako are both well-known tourist destinations in Japan. Passengers can not only enjoy sea travel, but also experience the local customs and culture of the places they visit.

The cruise ship is expected to boost the number of tourists traveling to Zhoushan and help promote the city across the country, said Xu Hai, deputy director of the city's bureau of culture, media, tourism and sport.

Xu added that the city will formulate a plan to promote cruise ship tourism and expand the market to cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Yangtze River Delta region.
